The 6D's image quality is it's trump card. The Canon 6D is a full frame camera with great image quality, relatively small size, (compared to other full frame DSLR’s) a straightforward menu system, and excellent low light picture quality. This is a great first full frame DSLR,(DSLR Digital Single Lens Reflex) the picture quality compares very favorably with the Canon 5D mk3 which typically costs twice as much and is a very highly regarded camera. Compared to more expensive full frame cameras the 6D lacks some of the bells and whistles, the autofocus, and focus tracking are not as sophisticated as the best of the more expensive full frame DSLR’s, but if you shoot mainly still subjects, portraits, landscapes, flowers, basically anything that stays still, or does not move around too quickly, then the autofocus is perfectly adequate. The ability to use any of Canon’s wonderful full frame lenses, at a bargain price makes the 6D a winner.Read full review

Now i have retired and want to spend more time on photography i realized i needed a lighter camera than my Nikon D700. The Nikon is a great camera but it is heavy especially with my old Tokina 28-70 f2.8 lens. My brother is a Canon man and suggested i try a 6D so thats what i did. I found a 6D at a fair price with low actuation's on ebay and a 24-105 f3.5/5.6 lens to go with it. The difference in weight was a pleasant surprise and i am very pleased with the quality of pictures. It took a few days to get used to the different menu system and lens having opposite zoom but am now confidant with it. The pictures are different than the Nikon which is better in low light with its autofocus system, but as i mainly shoot landscapes and buildings its no problem for me. All in all i can thoroughly recommend the 6d you cannot beat full frame.Read full review

Stepping up from the canon 70D. Very good entry level full frame camera that is easy to use and gives quality photos. Great in low light situations. The only down side is the low shutter speed 4000 so not to good for sports or wildlife and on very bright days you can't always get the DOF as you have to step up the aperture to stop over exposing. For my use EG landscape and portraits I think it's fantastic

My 1st venture into full frame DSLR. Just feeling my way through the features at the moment , but so far I'm blown away by the image quality , particularly the low light shots. You hardly need a flash at all...!!. Having huge control range over ISO, aperture and shutter speed is a fantastic feature. Using Sigma ART 24 - 105mm lens at the moment(also brilliant ) - can't wait to get expand my lens range. Delighted...!!
